Who am I? Good question. I've been trying to figure that one out for most of my life! What do I do? Well, that's easier to figure out. I am a website developer/programmer, specializing in database connectivity and interactive website technology. My particular forté is IDC (Internet Database Connector); however, like everyone else in this area, I am moving into ASP (Active Server Pages) at the gentle prompting of Microsoft.

I started out programming in C a number of years ago, and wrote a number of shareware programs (for DOS), some of which combined database programming and modem communication. At the same time, I started getting interested in BBSing, and even ran my own BBS for awhile. As the Worldwide Web came into its' own, I came right along with it. I started using FrontPage 1.1, and my second website project incorporated database connectivity with website development. In order to do this, I procured a beta version of FrontPage 97, until the commercial version came out. I knew that database connecvity was the future of the Internet and built my business around it. We both seem to be doing very well for ourselves now (my business and I).

I have developed a number of websites, and have done subcontracting work for a number of others. I maintain my own website at http://www.connectrans.com/takempis where I have quite a bit of information about IDC, tutorials, and discussion groups about IDC and FrontPage. For this work, and my contribution to the FrontPage Newsgroup, Microsoft has given me the honor of the title "Microsoft MVP" (Most Valuable Professional). I have consulted for the book "Build Your Own FrontPage 97 Websites" by Steve Graves (Coriolis Books), and spend most of my free time answering questions about FrontPage and IDC on the microsoft.public.frontpage.client Newsgroup, and on my website.
