Summary
Keith Cox is a Software Architect with over eighteen years of experience developing products for a variety of industries. He has held positions such as Director of Product Development, Senior Application Architect and Programmer/Analyst throughout his career in Information Systems. In addition to his extensive real-world experience, Keith enjoys transferring skill sets and mentoring his knowledge to students as a Microsoft Certified Trainer.
Keith specializes in software development using leading-edge technology. Most recently, he has devoted considerable effort to the design and implementation of corporate intranets using client and server based technology from Microsoft and Netscape. Keith supplements this development with his extensive knowledge of C, C++, Visual Basic, HTML, Active Server Pages, and application design using Microsofts Component Object Model.
Keith has been involved in the healthcare industry for the majority of his career providing software solutions to major care-giving organizations. A project Keith has worked on for many of those years is the computerization of the paper-based medical record. To accomplish this he has utilized the latest in object, client-server, internet and multimedia technologies. His involvement with Users Groups and Advisory Panels has allowed him to interact with the leaders in the industry and play a part in the design and implementation of standards related to healthcare such as CORBA and the ActiveX initiative under development by the Microsoft Healthcare Users Group.
Recent Projects
Keith has recently been involved in a project working with Microsoft Consulting Services to provide mentoring and architectural assistance to AT&T at their Red Hill facility in Middletown New Jersey.
In addition, Keith has helped several major firms in the Atlanta area in their transition from non-object oriented technologies to component development using Microsoft tools. These firms include SQL Financials, Southern Company, and The Center For Disease Control.
Keith has recently worked with Microsoft Consulting Services to produce custom courseware for Omni Technology Centers in Atlanta, Georgia. This courseware, entitled "Enterprise Developer Bootcamp", is targeted to senior developers needing to transition to development using Windows NT and Visual Studio 97. Topics included in this marathon course include: NT, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual J++, Visual InterDev, and the Component Object Model. Attendees learn architectural development strategies and build a prototypical active web site using a complete cross-section of Microsoft technologies.
Keith is a featured guest speaker at the Microsoft Internet Developers Association (MIDAS) user's group - a monthly meeting held for the benefit of internet developers at Microsoft headquarters in Atlanta.
