At about the age of a 9th grader, Chunyen dreamed of becoming an
architect in
order to build his own house. Not very long did he change his mind to be
a
mathematician since he was pretty good at counting coins in his piggy
bank. And with a little bit of luck, he had his first personal computer
at his college sophomore year and played as much table tennis on the
screen as on the school team, day and night. Staying up for numberous
deep-thinking hours at night has made him a coffee addict. He then
decided to look for a place where there are more varieties of coffee and
games after college graduation and a few years of work. The sacred
journey started
in the United States when he spent quite some time getting his master's
degree in computer science and Ph.D. program at the same university.
On a pleasant day, he married the woman of his life before finishing his
Ph.D. and then made a living
by working for National Computer Systems and GARMIN International. A few
months ago, when he saw a lightning strike in a weird pattern, it was like
a sign from heaven telling him to head in another direction. And here he
is at another
university to continue the unfinished mission on the east coast with his
always-caring wife and son. Except for having fun with his family, he
writes academic and commercial articles to share with people his way of
thinking and programs in JAVA just because it is a combination of coffee
and art. He has authored over 35,000+ Java code in over 100+ programs and
his works can be found in lots of Java sites, e.g. developer.com,
javapowered.com, java repository, etc. In addition to years of fun and
experiece in image processing, computer graphics, and vision, his writing
and programming ideas are also inspired while at bath.
